Greetings All,
I hope this note finds you and your family well. This is not the way we want to operate, but it is the way we have to operate this year.
OK, here we go…
We will be selling Mauritius Lychees this Saturday from 10:00 am until they are sold out. Brewster, Sweetheart, and Emperor are not ready yet. Brewster and Emperor are still green. Sweethearts are small and need to fatten up.
Here is how we are going to work this out. We (not you) are going to pick the lychees. We are going to pre weigh them in 3 pound, 5 pound, and 10 pound bags. You will have to trust us. If you don’t, don’t come.
We will be offering lychees in the following set quantities at a price of $6.00 per pound:
- 3 pounds for $18.00
- 5 pounds for $30.00
- 10 pounds for $60.00
You will go to our website and fill out the form. Then you will print it out, and present it to us when you arrive at the farm. You WILL stay in your vehicle and we put your order together, and then bring it to you. You will then hopefully pay us the correct amount, we will say THANK YOU and you will leave.
If you do not have a printer to print out the sheet, simply write your order on a piece of paper and give it to us. We will then do our best to fulfill your order depending on supply
We thank you in advance for your patience and understanding as we really don’t know what to expect.
Unfortunately, this is not the year to bring the whole family to tour the orchard, Andrew Jackson and Ben Franklin are OK. I know after being confined to your homes, a visit to the orchard would be the perfect getaway. However, nobody will be allowed in the orchard. Hopefully we can post more videos online.
THERE WILL BE NO OPPORTUNITY FOR YOU TO HANDLE ANY OF THE FRUIT.
There will not be an opportunity to sample anything.
There will be no handling of fruit by customers. This means you will not be able to “pick and choose” each piece of fruit like you have in the past.
Mangoes
LIMITED QUANTITY
We may have some mangoes available. Right now it looks like Florigon, Edwards, Van Dyke, Irwin, Nam Doc Mai, Glenn maybe a few others. They will be sold by the pound as well. Expect $3 per pound. They will be pre weighed and sold in set quantities as well. Probably minimum 5 pounds, and 10, 20 pounds.
We don’t have an order form for mangoes yet, so write it on the back of the lychee order or on a piece of paper.
Again, you will not be able to handle them like you have in the past. I’m sorry.
I explained this to someone today…and they asked me if I was going to put all the bad fruit in a bag and give it to them since they could not handle it. Yes, somebody really asked me that. Really.
If you are worried…that we would give you “bad” fruit,…then you shouldn’t come to our farm. It’s that simple. We don’t even give bad advise.
This is not the way we want to operate, however, this is the way we are going to have to operate this year.
We ask for your patience as we have never done this before and don’t know what to expect.
As usual, payments will still be in cash. Please do not be offended as we take your money while wearing gloves and then spray it with bleach or some other cancer causing agent. Please have the exact amount ready. This will help keep interactions to a minimum.
Any questions, text 321-243-2997
Regards,
Nick
